Digital revenue up 5% in Japan

The digital music market in Japan grew around 5% year-on-year in H1 2015, with digital revenue topping $191.8 million (¥22.9b).

Subscription revenue increased by a massive 43%, to $42.2m (¥5bn), the biggest gain across the country's digital market.

Sales of mobile tracks fell 55% to $7.4m (¥878 million) while ringback tone revenue fell to $13m (¥1.6bn), A 23% decline year-on-year.

Revenues from mobile fell to $14.8m (¥1.8bn) in total.
