FC Bayern Munich team up with Apple Music

Just weeks after streaming platform Deezer teamed up with Manchester United, Apple Music has announced a new partnership with German football giants FC Bayern Munich.

The deal offers music fans access to exclusive playlists and content, curated especially for Apple Music. Already available is the Bayern Munich first team playlist, featuring tracks by The White Stripes, Andreas Bourani, The Killers and MoTrip.

In addition, to the Apple Music partnership, Beats by Dr Dre has renewed its contract as the official sound partner of FC Bayern Munich for the next 12 months. The agreement will see Beats by Dr Dre provide the club with its headphones and speaker systems.

It is unknown as of yet whether or not fellow streaming services will follow-suit and make the move into the sporting arena. Could a Spotify tie-in with Barcelona be in the offing? A Tidal link-up Real Madrid? Google Play with Athletico Madrid? Who knows? But should such partnerships prove effective in helping streaming platforms expand their reach, it’s possible that the likes of those mentioned would look to explore similar opportunities.
