'Fuga will only improve as a hub of innovation': Tech firm makes senior hires

Fuga has made two senior hires - Jason Reed as head of global marketing and promotions and Kameil Sattar, who joins as regional manager UK.

The technology and distribution company has gone from 12 employees in 2014 to 100 today.

Formerly head of digital at Domino, Reed will start in his new role from June 11, operating principally from Fuga’s London office. For the last six years, he led digital strategy and partnerships for the leading indie, working on global campaigns for artists including Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip and The Last Shadow Puppets. Prior to Domino, Reed was head of digital at Ministry of Sound Recordings.

Sattar joins Fuga’s London office from her previous position as head of digital at Proper Music Group. She previously held senior roles with download platform eMusic and leading indie label distributor Pinnacle Records.

Sattar’s addition brings Fuga’s UK office to four staff since opening last year. The team, based in Tileyard Studios, also includes Sarah Johnston (client services account manager) and Björn Sandberg (promotions manager), and is led by UK MD Dorothee Imhoff.

Reed said: “I'm delighted to be joining the team at Fuga, continuing on a mission of collaborating with independent labels and artists to navigate the ever-shifting digital landscape and reach new global audiences. I'm looking forward to leading their growing marketing and promotions team in offering tailored services, further building out opportunities for a diverse range of artists across digital platforms.”

Sattar said: “Fostering independence and working with artists, labels, distributors - plus all those in-between - so they can realise their goals has been central to my working life. Fuga's flexible offering and super teamwork makes this dream work and so I'm looking forward to continuing this ethos and contributing to the company's growth in the UK.”

Fuga CEO Pieter van Rijn said: “We always aspire to offer the best technology and services backed by the best people and I look forward to welcoming the expertise and insight of Jason and Kameil. As we continue to grow as a company, Fuga will only improve as a hub of innovation and excellence for rightsholders.”
