A study carried out by market research institute GfK, on behalf of music industry trade body BVMI, indicates that there are currently 2.5 million premium streaming subscribers in Germany. A total of 2,000 people aged 14 and above were surveyed online for the study.

The research also found that 6.4m people in the country access streaming services via ad supported subscriptions and listen to the music for over an hour and a half a week.
