Beggars assessing streaming royalty rates as income from sector soars

Indie label group Beggars has been assessing its streaming royalty strategy after seeing huge annual growth in income from services such as Spotify.

The UK company - which owns a stake in labels 4AD, Rough Trade, XL and Matador - previously offered UK-contracted artists a 50% split of gross streaming income, whilst warning that the model could not continue forever.
