Lyric site Rap Genius signs licensing deal with UMPG
Rap Genius has signed a licensing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group for use of its artist’s song lyrics.
The site was last year sent a takedown notice by the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) for publishing lyrics that it didn’t have permission to use.
However, it can now freely use material from artists such as Paul Simon, Eminem, Florence and the Machine, Imagine Dragons and Adele.
