Messaging app Line to launch streaming service
Japanese messaging app company Line is launching a music streaming service, Line Music, with the backing of Sony Music Entertainment and Avex Digital.
The service was confirmed last week (December 11), with Sony taking a 40% share in the venture and Avex 20%.
Japan is yet to see much action in terms of streaming services, although Music Ally notes that the country is likely to be a priority for Apple as it relaunches Beats Music next year.
