Spotify posts €165m loss in FY2014 but revenues jump 45%

Spotify's revenues topped €1 billion last year, despite an increase in operating losses.

The streaming service's revenues for the 2014 financial year jumped 45%, reaching $1.1 billion.

Reuters obtained holding company Spotify Technology S.A.'s figures from the Luxembourg company registry today (Friday, May 8), which showed a widening operating loss - up to €165m from €91m in 2013. The increased loss was attributed to investments in product development and international expansion, as well as an increase in staffing.
