This is achieved through our ongoing programme of member support services, industry lobbying activities, conferences, award shows and other initiatives.

Following recent positive changes in the international independent music sector, AIM is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead AIM into the next phase of its work to support the UK’s independent music industry.

The role of the AIM CEO will be to lead the association and to be responsible for ensuring the whole of the association's work is carried out efficiently and effectively.

AIM’s team is structured according to the organisation’s key areas of activity: Legal and Business Affairs, Events, Member Services, Accounts, Start Ups/Training, and International. The CEO will provide constant support and management to the team, developing membership benefits and traction within the UK’s music industry to ensure that members’ needs and expectations are fully met.

Strategic guidance and support will be provided to the CEO by the AIM board and representatives of AIM member companies. The CEO is responsible to the AIM board.

The CEO’s strengths should be in understanding the role, strengths and threats to the thriving UK independent music industry sector and a background in the music industry will be preferred. In addition, expertise in policy formulation, lobbying and representation, developing relationships inside and outside the UK music industry will be essential. You will have at least five years’ senior management experience, including financial and human resource management. You will be comfortable working at board level, both within AIM and at board level with other industry organisations. You will be familiar with tackling high-pressured and politicized issues effectively and with confidence.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

AIM was formed by a small group of independent record companies in 1999, and today represents over 800 companies large and small. AIM acts as a voice for independent music companies and provides a vast range of services, advice and support to its members on a daily basis.

AIM represents members’ interests in the marketplace, in the media, in Westminster, and as part of the global music community.
