Handle's client, a world renowned record label are looking for a Commercial Finance Person to oversee the strategic decision making and Business Affairs area. Managing a small team the role will be positioned on the front line of the Music Industry and be heavily involved in key decision making, working closely alongside senior management.
The role will be involved with but not limited to:
- Assisting with decision making to sign artists
- Deal and contract appraisal and negotiations
- Responsible for evaluating the acquisition of catalogue to the labels
- Controlling recording budgets
- Management of A&R budgets
- Preparation of Publishing Company Management accounts, forecasts and budgets for both US and UK
- Drafting Artist, Broadcast, Remix, Video, Producer and Third party Licensee contracts
- Preparation of Royalty accounts for all artists and licensees
- All aspects of third party compilation and synchronization licensing
- Break even analysis on all projects
- drafting and negotiating all forms of publishing, recording, and producer agreements
- Maintaining relationships with managers and artists
- Point of contact for all label on day to day basis for legal and business issues
The successful candidate will be experienced within strategic and commercial finance and have experience of working closely within business affairs within the Music Industry. Music industry experience is absolutely essential.
