Sky Music department provides various services in connection with the music that is used on Sky’s channels and services. We are seeking an enthusiastic, determined, outgoing and organised person to join us now.
Reporting to the Director of Music Services you will take full responsibility for:
Negotiating fees and terms with record companies, music publishers, artist management
and other music copyright owners
Being the key point of liaison between the Sky Entertainment Production team and Music Licensing
Attending regular meetings with Sky creative teams to advise on music licensing issues
Visiting independent production companies and giving Sky music guidelines presentation,
Providing assistance and guidance on the use of music in Sky commissioned programmes injecting a creative approach to it
Supervising and training Music Co-ordinator’s on a day to day basis
To be successful in this role you will have extensive and similar experience gained within the TV or Media industry; a music publisher or record company. A good understanding of music copyright is a must as well as a fair knowledge of new technologies and formats for delivery. A creative mind-set is highly required as you will be asked to promote creativity among your stakeholders.
The ability to work well under pressure is vital so you will have an irrepressibly can-do attitude and strive on your determination and prioritising/organising skills to exceed targets. You should be comfortable dealing with a high workload and have managed a team previously.
