A new role has been created for a Head of Student Recruitment within the Notting Hill Academy of Music.

The key objective of the role is to ensure that student recruitment (sales) for the academic year commencing in September 2017 is achieved to plan.

Role profile

The role profile for the Head of Student Recruitment is as follows:

  • Develop effective process for tracking and reacting to enquiries generated through all marketing channels. Ensure the effective deployment of the Agile CRM system to support the needs of the student recruitment activity.
  • Work alongside the marketing department and their online and social media strategies for student recruitment to ensure that the strategies, activities and campaigns followed are the most effective within budget constraints.
  • Co-ordinate the attendance at Open Days and external events to ensure the effectiveness of the marketing activity and the subsequent follow-up activity with prospective students.
  • Manage and develop the database of lead providers, influencers, industry bloggers and feeder colleges and co-ordinate an effective contact strategy.
  • Lead and direct the introduction of a registration channel with the Student Services, Marketing and IT teams to ensure the effectiveness of the student registration process made via the channel and the quality of the information available to students on the courses available at the College.
  • Co-ordinate the recruitment activities of the Student Services team to ensure that the student registration process is effective, enquiries are followed up on a timely basis and that the conversion of enquiries into registrations is effective and exceeds the budget KPIs.
  • Control and report the student recruitment activity on a timely basis against KPI and budget information to the senior management team. Attend meetings of the senior management team.

Personal criteria and skills

The post holder of the Head of Student Recruitment will need to demonstrate the following personal qualities and skills:

  • Previous experience of student recruitment within a higher education institution including the achievement of sales and recruitment targets
  • Understanding of the product of a higher education institution (degree courses) and of the student registration process.
  • Proven results-based experience of multi-channel sales and digital marketing activities and in particular of social media and online marketing activities (the current channels to market for students of today).
  • Solid knowledge of web analytics and ad serving tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
  • Experience in working across departments and functions to achieve agreed results.
  • Experience with the implementation of the Agile CRM system would be an advantage
  • Highly creative and energetic. The post holder needs to make a difference very quickly.
