Handle Recruitment are working with an established independent world music record label specialising in music from Cuba and West Africa to search for an experienced Marketing and PR Manager to maximise the profile of the label’s releases and label brand.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Budgeting, delivering and managing international marketing campaigns across print and digital (for, and across label releases)
  • Work closely with international affiliates including physical and digital distributors, artist managers, tour agents and PR agencies, in the creation of marketing and promotional plans; monitor, analyse nurture and influence these plans through the life of a campaign
  • Writing all outgoing copy for label, including: press releases, retail and consumer marketing copy, newsletters and all website copy
  • Cross marketing releases, and label / artist activity
  • Liaising and commissioning designers, photographers and video editors in the creation of materials
  • Managing label and artist website and social media channels
  • Keeping up to date with new forms of media and communication relevant to the role

 

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Demonstrable experience of the tasks outlined above
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills
  • At least 3 years’ experience of marketing in a music environment
  • Ability to think creatively re new promotional angles / opportunities
  • Proven success managing external agencies: setting objectives and evaluating performance
  • Highly organised, systematic with strong project management skills
  • Genuine interest and active knowledge of digital marketing (including advertising, social, mobile, technology, streaming services)
  • Awareness and interest in digital trends and emerging technologies
  • Ambitious, hard working with a flexible attitude
  • Creative, positive and reliable
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • French / Spanish speaking a major plus
  • Knowledge of software: Office, Google Analytics and AdWords, InDesign, Photoshop,
  • Graphic design and video editing skills desirable
