About the Academy: Following on from an extremely successful first year the Notting Hill Academy of Music is looking to expand its delivery and is currently looking for a new Music Business Lecturer.

Summary:

Business Lecturer

One day a week initially (hours tbc)

Candidate must have at least 5 years current music industry experience, and preferably experience in the HE Sector

Essential: BA qualification

Desirable: MA or teaching qualification

Experience and knowledge: Future and Digital Marketing, Intellectual Property, Music Copyright, Licensing and Live.

Would suit someone currently working in digital sales marketing/distribution or management.

Music Business Overview

Reporting to the Head of Teaching and Learning, successful candidates will be lecturing on the Music Business Entrepreneur course.

The candidate will have experience in working within a variety of key industry sectors

They will have specific and in-depth knowledge of monetising digital platforms, subscription models, rights ownership, organisations and structures with a good grasp of the entire industry infrastructure

The candidate should be experienced in the legislative implications of technological, cultural, political and economic change.

Have a good understanding of copyright law with regards to the past, current and future shape of the music industry.

Will be able to deliver in-depth knowledge in an exciting and innovative classroom environment.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Will have an in-depth understanding of the Music Industry and the broader ramification across the 'media' sector.
  • Will possess the ability to translate concepts into tangible classroom activities & group work.
  • Will have an inspirational, innovative and creative approach.
