Handle Recruitment is working with an independent record label, music management and publishing company to find a Publishing/ Office Assistant for a new and fast growing environment. The ideal candidate will have Publishing and Office Experience.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the main point of contact with publishing admin for all song-registrations/licensing/copyright enquires
- Diary and email management
- Weekly updates to the publisher and team on “hot tips/acts” of potential new signings
- Maintaining comprehensive audio file copies of songs signed writers deliver
- Keeping written records of writer updates, upcoming cuts, song-pitching enquiries
- Having a knowledge of up and coming projects across the UK music industry and scouting for new talent, by networking with A&R’s/Scouts/Managers/Agents /Lawyers externally. Sharing that information with song-writers/ the publisher and team
- Coming up with ideas for writer collaborations/sessions and setting these up
- Over-seeing and keeping a log of spend on any writers drawdown funds (if applicable)/writing trips and liaising with accounts/clients for payments
- Preparing agendas for weekly and monthly meetings, taking minutes and following up with colleagues on action points
- Studio management - manage studio diary and various diaries of artists/producers
- Managing copyright admin with PRS & MCPS
- Regularly contact sync companies’/music supervisors to pitch writer’s music
- Attending industry gigs/events regularly to scout for new writers/build relationships
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- The ability to work independently
- A strong knowledge of Music Publishing
- Knowledge of music publishing, the fashion industry and music studio knowledge is desirable but not essential
- Strong Organizational skills
- A good understanding of the music publishing business and relationships within the song-writing community
