THE VENUE

Within the last 12 months Victoria Warehouse has delivered spectacular events for numerous global brands; Vevo, BBC, Matchroom Sports, Live Nation, National Youth Theatre, and RFL to name a few. VW is making waves across the events industry as an iconic Northern venue, ideal for launches, televised events, live music and sport. Due to a huge increase in interest from the entertainment, music and sports industry and the recent development of further event space were looking to expand our team.

THE ROLE

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in venue or hotel proactive MICE sales, for a minimum of 4 years. The focus of this role is to find new MICE business from the entertainment, sport and music segments, therefore knowledge and experience working within these markets for a minimum of 2 years is essential. Strong account management skills in order to grow the accounts will also be required. Someone who can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, is confident presenting/communicating at all levels and has a strong drive for results. It is envisaged that 80% of time will be spent out of the office meeting clients and finding new business so flexibility is essential. Other responsibilities include: site visits, organising and hosting FAM trips, representing VW at industry events and networking, preparing and presenting event proposals and converting enquiries to contracted events.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES 4 OUT OF 5 DAYS SPENT 'ON THE ROAD' (REGULAR BUSINESS TRIPS TO LONDON IS ESSENTIAL), THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO VISIT THE VENUE ON A MONDAY ONLY (THIS IS THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT).

THEREFORE CANDIDATES CAN BE BASED ANYWHERE IN THE UK, HOWEVER THEY MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO MANCHESTER 1 DAY A WEEK. 

 

THE CANDIDATE

  • Must have previous sales manager experience within the hotel or events industry for a minimum of 4 years
  • Proven results developing the entertainment, sports or music market segments for a minimum of 2 years
  • Excellent links within the entertainment, sport and music industry
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Accustomed to working towards and exceeding sales targets & KPI's
  • Passionately driven towards revenue goals
  • High standard of personal presentation
  • Work well under pressure and independently
  • Be organised, able to multi-task and time manage
  • Excellent communication skills between clients, suppliers and colleagues within other departments
