An opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager at one of London’s most versatile venue spaces. Troxy is based in East London, and the venue boasts a ground floor and circle area as well as a smaller event room and hosts events for 200 to 3100 people such as Corporate Awards & Dinners / Live Concerts / Indoor Sports Events / Club Nights and Weddings.
We are looking for an experienced candidate who will be tasked to directly control and plan the operational activities of the venue, duty manage events, write procedures, arrange maintenance schedules and manage our contractors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure high standards of health and safety through proactive management of the venue
- Write, assess and constantly update Standard and Emergency Operating Procedures
- Logging and management of safety systems, refuse collection, pest control, systems testing, plumbing, legal compliance, and checks alarm activity, authorities visits and training
- Management of alarm and safety systems
- Create and manage a permit to work system
- Carry out standardised venue risk assessments, continually improving and reviewing
- Carry out health and safety check lists at regular intervals, seeking ways to improve the safety and comfort of employees, contractors, performers and the public
- Carry out a fire risk assessment, using consultants if required
- Manage conditions of entry, including drugs policy
- Sign off all events via due diligence, risk assessing and profiling
- Create and management an inspections and inventory logging system
- Conduct inspections of the venue, and create, manage and allocate specific tasks that arise from each inspection
- Manage all contractors, including security, first aiders, builders, maintenance and cleaners
- Schedule in conversion, crew calls, cleaning and refuse collection pre and post event
- Work allocated events in a Duty Manager's role
- Carry out working document risk assessments and audience profiles for all events, highlighting any issues that arise from these to the Event Manager and General Manager immediately
- Book suitable staffing levels of security, cleaners, conversion staff and medics for all events, including Duty Manager's cover when required
- Send out post event reports as required to senior management

- As required, planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the venue

You will come from a venue or events background and have managed high profile, large scale events. You will be able to show clear examples of managing multi-contractor, multi-team sets ups, event management skills and budget planning skills. You will thrive on the challenge of increasing revenue and prudently cost saving. You will be joining a small but friendly team and hence a professional but likeable personality is absolutely essential. This is a seven day operation so you will need to be flexible to cover evenings and weekends as well.
