Royalty Accountant
The Royalty Accountant role exists to make sure that the companies’ contractual royalty obligations are interpreted accurately and on time.
Main Duties:
- Set up and maintain a comprehensive master database of agreements, due dates, interested party information, revenue shares, past and incoming royalties.
- Liaise with the legal department on contracts to determine deal terms
- Review and upload and process all royalty reports (including digital) into our in house system
- Prepare timely and accurate royalty calculations and statements for any broadcaster, talent and other 3rd party pay always on revenue streams.
- Royalty payments
- Communicate to payees the status of their sales invoices and dealing with subsequent queries
- Track royalties due to the company
- Balance Sheet reconciliations and the preparation of royalty information for the year-end audit.
- Compiling the data needed for MCPS quarterly submissions
The successful candidate will be responsible for the continued development of the function and will work alongside the accounting and business affairs department.
Key Requirements:
- Be confident, pro-active and have the ability to work well as a team and to use their initiative when working by themselves
- Have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Be able to communicate financial information to non-finance persons.
- Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent
- Solid understanding of the entire royalties’ process is necessary
- Able to work to tight deadlines
