Karl Kongkham has been named as managing director of Warner Music Thailand. He will take up the role on November 1 and report to Calvin Wong, Warner Recorded Music’s president, South East Asia, Hong Kong and Korea.
Kongkham joins WMG from the Leo Burnett Group, which specialises in advertising, digital and social media, content and innovation, sales promotion, direct marketing and event management. He served as a business director of the company’s ARC Worldwide and MSLGROUP subsidiaries.
Kongkham said: “I’m so pleased to have been invited to take up this role at Warner Music Thailand. I’ll be combining my lifelong passion for music with my experience in running digital and social media campaigns. I will ensure that we continue to invest heavily in local artists, as well as bringing our global stars to Thailand.”
Calvin Wong added: “I’m delighted to welcome Karl to the Warner Music family. Thailand is a key South East Asian market for us with huge potential as digital services such as Spotify have recently opened for business. Karl’s expertise in digital and social media will be invaluable to our artists as we seek to grow our business in Thailand in the years ahead.”
