Major label executives have warned there will be “bumps in the road” ahead, despite the global recorded music market growing by 5.9% to £12.16 billion last year.

The rise compares with 3.2% growth in 2015 and sees digital income account for half the global recorded music industry’s annual revenue for the first time.
