Music production company Focus has relaunched as part of a major expansion project, adding 35 new labels and over 225,000 tracks, Music Week can reveal.
The relaunch marks significant growth for the company, having originally counted five in-house labels to its name. It also comes with a brand new website and a faster, more comprehensive search engine.
Focus will now provide production music across a diverse range of genres, including classical, rock, pop, dance and dubstep.
New labels on Focus include Kosinus - specific music style aimed at documentaries, cults labels, art, classical and TV; FirstCom - a diverse ‘mega-library’ including everything from acoustic underscores to a ‘rage rock’; MasterSource - a contemporary, major label-quality collection of song-based cuts, among the world’s largest collection of vocal tracks in all genres, featured in hundreds of major motion pictures, television shows, video games, trailers; and Selectracks - a music library with over 100 albums and a rapidly growing catalogue.
There will also be a major team expansion across areas such as music supervision and client service.
Commenting on the relaunch, Focus managing director John Clifford told Music Week: "The relaunch of Focus Music represents a new era for the company as we expand our team and repertoire line-up. Whilst there are plenty of challenges for the music industry as a whole at the moment, the appetite for quality production music tailor-made to meet the demands of the world’s media content market, is at an all time high.
“Focus will continue to produce upwards of 40 new albums per year across our five in-house labels to meet those needs, which in turn will provide a lot of opportunity for our composers. This is just the beginning for Focus – we have more exciting new label announcements coming soon. The future is bright,"
