Ed Sheeran announces UK and Ireland arena tour

Ed Sheeran has announced a UK and Ireland arena tour in support of upcoming third album ÷.

Beginning on April 12, the tour will comprise two nights at arenas in Dublin (April 12-13), Glasgow (16-17), Newcastle (19-20), Manchester (22-23), Nottingham (25-26), Birmingham (28-29) and The O2 in London (May 1-2), where the tour is due to finish.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on February 2. A presale starts on January 31.

The dates will be the singer's first domestic arena shows since 2014. He last played in the UK in 2015, when he headlined three nights at Wembley Stadium.

Sheeran returns to the stage at Pala Alpitour in Turin, Italy, on March 17, followed by shows in Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain, before reaching these shores. He will then visit Central and South America, winding up in Mexico on June 14 - around 10 days before Glastonbury, where Sheeran is rumoured to be headlining.

Sheeran's manager Stuart Camp, of Rocket Management, recently did a Q&A with Music Week on the singer's comeback.
