Eventbrite hires trio of industry veterans in nightlife and dance

Event technology platform Eventbrite has appointed three prominent execs from the dance and nightlife industry in the US: Barak Schurr, Diego Carlin, and Senthil Chidambaram (pictured).

The strategic hires come on the heels of an expanding roster of high-profile customer wins (Ministry of Sound, WOMAD, Boomtown, Margin Walker Presents, PopGun Presents’ Elsewhere and Lincoln Hall/Schubas).

“We’re excited to further our commitment within the dance music market and extend our proven success in dance music festivals to nightclubs and venues,” said Greg Patterson, director of music and live events at Eventbrite.

“Barak, Diego, and Senthil share Eventbrite’s passion for live experiences and an aligned interest in helping nightclubs and venues run their event business as smoothly as possible. We look forward to marrying their deep industry knowledge with our global leadership in event technology to better serve this important and fast-growing part of the music ecosystem.”

“Years ago we saw an untapped opportunity in Eventbrite to partner with a different kind of ticketing company that would help us take our events to the next level,” said Donnie Estopinal, founder of Disco Donnie Presents, which produces more than 1,000 dance music shows and festivals across the globe each year. “Eventbrite has proven themselves as a reliable long-term partner that consistently innovates to keep our community happy and it’s no surprise that they were able to attract such strong industry talent.”

Schurr previously served as founder and president of Wantickets.com, while Carlin served as CEO at the same company. Chidambaram, meanwhile, joins from Dancing Astronaut, where he was CEO.
