Glastonbury Festival reveals Emerging Talent Competition finalists for 2017

Glastonbury Festival has revealed the eight finalists for its 2017 Emerging Talent Competition, which is supported by PRS for Music and the PRS Foundation.

The acts, chosen from thousands of entries, are Flohio, Josh Barry, Lilith Ai, Lucas & King, Silences, Tyni, WOWH and Young Yizzy. This year’s invite-only final will take place on Saturday, April 22.

The eventual winners will perform a set on one of the main stages at this year’s festival and will also be awarded a £5,000 PRS Foundation Talent Development prize, to help take their songwriting and performing to the next level. Two runners-up will also each be awarded a £2,500 PRS Foundation Talent Development prize.

“Each year, we are blown away by the sheer amount of great music that’s being made by new, upcoming artists in the UK and Ireland," said Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis. "There really is so much talent out there, and it certainly wasn’t easy to narrow it down to just eight finalists. But we’ve ended up with a really strong list of acts and I can’t wait to see them all perform at the live final.”

The finalists were selected by Glastonbury judges from the longlist of 120 artists which was compiled by 40 of the UK’s best online music writers.
