Liam Gallagher announced as first TRNSMT headliner as festival expands to five days

Liam Gallagher is the first headliner announced for the 2018 TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow, which is expanding over two weekends.

The former Oasis frontman will perform on Saturday, June 30, topping a bill also featuring Courteeners, Wolf Alice and J Hus.

The non-camping festival, which has effectively replaced T In The Park, will take place in Glasgow Green over five days - from June 29 to July 1, July 6 and July 8.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to announce TRNSMT 2018’s line-up – all four bands are testament to the brilliant British music scene right now and will offer an amazing day of music," said Geoff Ellis, head of promoter DF Concerts.

“It’s set to be a brilliant summer of music. We’re bringing some of the best world-class artists to Glasgow Green, with many more exciting announcements still to come. TRNSMT’s outstanding audience in July this year showed the world why TRNSMT should be central to the festival music calendar. Much like in 2017, TRNSMT will showcase some of the best up and coming talent in the UK, mixed with world-class artists so stay tuned as there’s so much more to come.”

This year's inaugural TRNSMT was held over three days and was headlined by Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro and was hailed an "immediate hit" by organisers.
