Liverpool Echo Arena operator brings in creative agency ahead of 10th anniversary

The ACC Liverpool Group, operator of Liverpool’s Echo Arena, has appointed creative agency, Crush, ahead of its 10th anniversary.

Crush is a boutique creative agency specialising in music, entertainment and lifestyle brands. The agency will lead a number of existing brand partnerships and development programmes for the arena as well as developing new creative partnership and activation platforms.

"Echo Arena offers a unique location on Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage waterfront in one of the nation’s premier cultural cities with a packed programme of entertainment and sporting events. Over and above this we are committed to continually enhancing the arena’s offer to our customers and providing a first-class audience experience but also a point of difference,” said Michelle Kemp, marketing director at Echo Arena.

“This level of creative ambition is core to what Crush do so they’re a great addition to the team. We look forward to working together to bring our vision to life."

Since opening in 2008, the ACC Liverpool Group, which also runs the Echo Arena's sister venues BT Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre Liverpool, has attracted five million visitors to more than 1,700 events, generating £1.07 billion in economic benefit for the local economy. The group is currently undertaking a cross-site development program, which will see the venues enhance their offerings and create a true entertainment destination as they mark a decade in Liverpool’s city center.

"Liverpool’s deep heritage in music and entertainment, and the iconic site, create a rich and unique canvas for brands to come and tell their stories through consumer passions. It’s a testament to their ambition that they’ve chosen to align with a creative agency rather than a sales or sponsorship agency to bring the potential of the site to life. The energy of the team is amazing and we’re really excited about what they have planned on the run up to 2018," said Crush MD Mike Dowuona.

To kick start the partnership Crush will look to connect the arena with a select number of specialist brands across sectors such as tech, food and drink, automotive, home and travel, tapping into their expertise and products to develop a series of innovative infrastructure enhancements designed to optimise the audience entertainment experience.

Rod Stewart, Jess Glynne, Richard Ashcroft, James and The Charlatans and Simply Red are among upcoming concerts at the 11,000-capacity Echo Arena.
