Rolling Stones fans relive band's famous Cuba gig at immersive screening

A new immersive event concept saw more than 1,500 fans join together at East London’s Troxy to relive The Rolling Stones' Havana Moon gig.

Actors, dancers, Cuban inspired cocktails, food and incredible set design provided the backdrop for last week's screening of the concert, which originally took place in Cuba’s capital in front of over half a million fans in 2016.

The event was presented by immersive specialists Revive At Studio 5, which has now been rebranded as Rebel Vision.

Director Tom Clark said: “Bringing a brand-new event concept to a venue the size of Troxy was always going to be a risk but it’s one we’re certainly glad we took. It was full with fans who really embraced the idea and got fully into the spirit of it. Seeing hundreds of dedicated music lovers dancing and singing along to the screened gig made the months of hard work totally worth it.”

Director Andy Cuthbert added: “It genuinely had the feeling and atmosphere of a live gig! We were nervous fans might not fully enter into it, but they absolutely did. The live quality sound production made a massive difference, as did all the other elements of the evening put in place to immerse fans into the world of Havana, Cuba and the original gig. Moving forward we’re excited to roll this concept out more broadly and are rebranding the business to reflect this."
