David Enthoven, the long-time manager of Robbie Williams, has passed away.

Williams confirmed Enthoven's death this evening, paying tribute to his manager of 20 years on Twitter, writing: “My Friend, Mentor and Hero passed away today. David Enthoven I love you RIP.”

Williams had been working with the industry veteran since 1996, along with his business partner Tim Clark.

A spokesperson for the MMF said: "We are very sad that long-time manager and MMF supporter David Enthoven has passed away today after a short illness. David will be remembered as a true friend, an exemplary colleague, a helpful mentor and a truly exceptional human being.

"Our thoughts are with all the artists and team he worked with at IE Music and of course his family. Big Hugs David. We will miss you."

Enthoven managed and named the band T Rex, and also worked with Brian Eno and Roxy Music after founding EG Records.
