Tap Music launches electronic music division with The Weird & The Wonderful

Tap Music has brought in management company The Weird & The Wonderful in order to launch a new electronic division.

The collaborative partnership will see The Weird & The Wonderful founders Steven Braines and Sophia Kearney spearhead the international electronic division by bringing their 20-strong roster, including DJs and producers Maya Jane Coles, KDA and Catz N Dogz.

The Weird & The Wonderful’s artists will join Tap’s roster of acts including Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa and Ellie Goulding. The company also confirmed details of a Maya Jane Coles rework of Dua Lipa’s Swan Song.

Braines and Kearney said: ‘We spurned so many offers from other management companies over the years - the thing that changed for us was simply who was asking us the question. Tap are undoubtedly the most exciting global management company out there - from megastars like Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey and Ellie Goulding through to emerging talent like Dermot Kennedy and Grace Carter. Best of all, Tap are encouraging us to remain as ‘Weird & Wonderful’ as we always have been.”

We are very excited to have two of the world’s best electronic artist managers join us with their teamr

Ben Mawson, co-founder of Tap, said: "Ed [Millett] and I have a passion for electronic music and have wanted for some time to start an electronic wing of Tap. We are very excited to have two of the world’s best electronic artist managers join us with their team, and we intend to continue to build this side of our business in exactly the same way we’ve built Tap - providing a full service management company to producers and DJs in the electronic space."

Tap will now have an office in Milan, alongside existing bases in Berlin, Sydney and its headquarter offices in London and LA.

Red Light Management is also building up its electronic music division, with Sigma the latest dance act to join the roster.
