YouTube sensation Marcus Butler has launched a music management company in the form of Stripped Bear Entertainment - a joint venture with Dom Smales of social talent agency Gleam Futures.
Stripped Bear Entertainment will aim to discover and work with music artists for a new digital-generation audience. So far, the company has already signed two musicians and is in talks with several other promising young acts.
The firm has also hired Bobby Havens as the first manager on the team, who previously worked at Rocket Music, Elton John’s management company.
Butler, a successful vlogger in his own right with over four million YouTube subscribers, has been managed by Gleam Futures since 2012.
Commenting on the new business, Butler said: “[Music] is one of my biggest passions in life and it is a privilege to be able to guide and help young music talent through the 21st century world of social media.”
Meanwhile, Havens has said he is “thrilled’ to be joining the Stripped Bear team, describing social media talent as “crucial new gate keepers to a huge new audience in the future.”
