Gilles Peterson launches worldwide FM radio station

Legendary DJ Gilles Peterson is launching a new global radio service in the form of Worldwide FM.

The latest addition to Peterson’s Worldwide brand, Worldwide FM will launch on September 5, broadcasting live from London and co-hosted by Peterson and fellow DJ Thris Tian. The service will feature regular DJs, special guests, interviews, discussions and live sessions.

Earlier this year a test broadcast included appearances from Pharoahe Monch, Louie Vega, Saul Williams, Abdullah Ibrahim and Paul Bradshaw.

File-hosting service WeTransfer will help power the new radio station, which is set to launch in several other locations around the world over the coming months, including Los Angeles and several places in mainland Europe.

A number of global ambassadors will also help spread the word, including the likes of Brussels’ DJ Lefto and Tokyo’s Toshio Matsuura.
