The line-up for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month in September has been revealed, with Jay Z, Harry Styles, Foo Fighters, Chris Martin and Miley Cyrus among the stars set to be perform.
Revealed on Clara Amfo’s show this morning, the line-up also includes The Killers, Pink, The Script, Lorde, Stormzy, Rita Ora and 30 Seconds to Mars. Live Lounge Month runs from September 1-29.
Completing a bill assembled to mark the station’s 50th anniversary are Craig David, George Ezra, Wolf Alice, The xx, Rag‘N’Bone Man, Royal Blood, Rudimental with James Arthur and London Grammar.
In a nod to the station’s milestone birthday, the Live Lounge cover versions will be hits from the last 50 years.
Glastonbury headliners Foo Fighters will kick off the month with a performance from their studio in Los Angeles.
Amfo will host each Live Lounge during her weekday show from 10am-1pm. Each Friday will bring a separate Live Lounge Special, with Pink, Miley Cyrus and Jay Z all set to perform extended sets
On the evening of September 29 there will be a concert in front of a live studio audience featuring a special guest.
Amfo said: "This year's Live Lounge Month has me more excited for our listeners than ever. From LA back to our studios in the UK, there is 50 great years of Radio 1 to celebrate with all of the artists and I can't wait for it to kick off!"
