27 speakers from 16 cities to speak at Music Cities Convention

The third edition of Music Cities Convention will return to Brighton on May 18 asd will take place at the Sallis Benney Theatre.

The Convention brings together the top minds from municipalities, regions, academics, consultants and the music industry to discuss, debate and introduce new thinking, action and structure to develop more vibrant, global cities.

From venue and community space development to education, employment, event provision, licensing, regulation and demographics, city tourism, soft power and brand development, music industries impact a number of issues prevalent in city planning, strategy, regulatory and legislative aspects.

2015 saw the first and second sold out installments of Music Cities Convention. The first event in Brighton saw 120 attendees from 20 countries and 50 cities, while the inaugural US edition exceeded this with 170 attendees from 60 cities, generating over $170,000 USD direct economic impact.

The third edition will see 28 speakers from 20 different cities in attendance, which makes it one of the world’s most extensive conference focused on exploring the relationship between city planning, strategy, development, policy and the music industry.

The convention was initiated by Glastonbury booker and The Great Escape co-founder Martin Elbourne and global music cities advisory, Sound Diplomacy.
