Revenue from online music downloads has risen 32% in the first half of 2012, according to data from German music association BVMI (The Bundesverband Musikindustrie / The Federal Association of Music Industry).
Compensating for the country’s trend of the decline of physical sales, this digital revenue rise contributed to an overall revenue increase of 0.2 per cent for the first half of the year, amounting to around $780 million.
