The Ofcom auction of the 4G mobile spectrum has been completed but has brought in over £1bn less than predicted by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
Everything Everywhere, Hutchison 3G UK, Niche Spectrum Ventures (a BT subsidiary), Telefonica (O2) and Vodafone were the successful bidders with the total purchase sum amounting to £2.34bn, varying greatly from that of the 3G auction, which raised £22bn.
