74 pirate sites targeted by Police ad hijacks

The Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) has implemented ad banner hijacks on 74 suspected pirate sites to date.

The ad replacement scheme was implemented by the City of London Police at the end of last month. Now, TorrentFreak has established the reach of the programme so far, via a freedom of information request.

The operation is being carried out in partnership with online advertising companies.
