Music discovery streaming site 8tracks reportedly rejected an offer to be bought by Google last year.
The suggested 8tracks deal is described as an “acquire-hire” arrangement and could have resulted in the shutdown of the service. However, 8tracks chose to remain independent.
With around 11 million registered users, the platform has raised $1.5 million since launching in 2006.
