Adam Lambert has walked away from his record deal with RCA.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the 2009 American Idol runner-up was asked by the label to record a eighties covers album - a decision that his fans (Glamberts) showed their distaste for via social media, and Lambert himself said: "While there are lots of great songs from that decade, my heart is simply not in doing a covers album."
