AEG Live has won the contract to stage concerts at London’s Hyde Park.
Hyde Park had previously been in partnership with Live Nation, but the company failed to renew its contract with The Royal Parks citing noise restrictions and issues around crowd considerations as reasons.
The AEG Live tender will see the company launch a new London festival in Hyde Park from the summer of 2013 for five years.
In an email, top line AEG bosses have expressed the intention to put world class talent and music artists at the heart of the event, which will be unique to London.
The festival will be added to a growing AEG UK portfolio which includes The O2 Arena (London), Hammersmith Apollo and AEG Live Touring.
AEG also promotes a number of festivals including Scotland’s Rockness and California’s Coachella.
