Overall album sales in Canada were down for the third consecutive year in 2014, falling 7% from 2013, according to figures from Nielsen SoundScan.
Including track equivalent albums, the figure stood at 37.9 million, down from 2013's 40.9m. CD sales stood at 16.5m, also decreasing 7% from 17.6m.
Digital track sales were down 12% to 101.7m units. Nielsen started tracking Canadian streaming providers in July, and recorded over 6.3bn streams in the second half of 2014.
