Projected year-end Nielsen SoundScan figures suggest that albums sales in the US will only face a 4% dip compared to the same time in 2011.
The near-stable numbers are, in part, thanks to the strength of digital sales and resurgence of vinyl format sales as the projected figures are reported at 317.4 million album sales, as opposed to 2011’s 330.6 million.
