Apple CEO Steve Jobs has indicated that iTunes is unlikely to move towards offering a subscription model, saying, "The subscription model has failed so far."
His comments come amid contract renewal negotiations with the major record labels over the hosting of their material on the iTunes Music Store, and following the company's announcement earlier this month that it is to offer DRM-free music from EMI at a premium price.
