Apple plans to unveil a new, smaller iPad, the so-called 'iPad mini' on October 23 at an invitation-only event, according to reports.
Details are sparse, but it is thought that the iPad’s sibling will feature a 7.85-inch liquid-crystal display, a Lightning connector, and is likely to be thinner.
All Things D says that the event is likely to be at Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium. The company has debuted a number of products there in the past including the OS X Lion, a next-generation MacBook Air and the iPhone 4S.
The announcement will follow on from Apple’s launch of the iPhone 5 in September.
