Arctic Monkeys manager Ian McAndrew has been added to MusicTank’s upcoming ticketing summit along with MP Sharon Hodgson and Ticket Factory commercial director Peter Monks.

The think tank on ticketing will take place on December 5 at University of Westminster’s Fyvie Hall from 5:30 – 9pm.

McAndrew is CEO and founder of Wildlife Entertainment and has been added to the summit’s Innovation panel, which will look at how to improve the primary ticketing market alongside speakers from Songkick, Sandbag and WeGotTickets. As both an MMF board member and founding member of The FanFair Alliance, McAndrew will be sharing his knowledge and ideas about current and future models of ticketing that will ensure fairness and transparency for consumers, artists, promoters and sellers.

Also joining the first panel will be Peter Monks, commercial director of The Ticket Factory - a UK ticketing agency in sport, music and entertainment. He will be discussing his involvement with Podium, an alliance of event industry organisations and the Metropolitan Police set up prior to the London Olympics to ensure that touts were unable to profit from the resale of official tickets.

Sharon Hodgson, MP for Washington and Sunderland West and Shadow Education Minister, has been added to the second panel of the event, which seeks to clarify what sort of regulation the industry wants and needs.

A founding member of the FanFair alliance, Hodgson has led the campaign against ticket touting in Parliament and in the last session tabled a Private Member’s Bill calling for mark-ups to be capped at 10%.

Before the first panel, Christiaan Munro of Sandbag will present a case study of Radiohead’s recent world tour, its aims and lessons learned before joining Ian McAndrew, Peter Monks, Songkick’s Dan Rogers and WeGotTickets’ Dave Newton.

Following a keynote from Aline Renet of PRODISS, the second panel, Regulation, will include Sharon Hodgson MP, Ben Turner, Association of Independent Festivals/Bestival/The Ticket Trust, Richard Marks, Scarlet Mist  and consumer specialist Caitlin Graham, Which?.

Both panels will be moderated by MusicTank Chairman Keith Harris. Further speakers are being finalised.
