The Power 50 candidates of 2012 were analysed on criteria including public profile, economic impact and career accomplishment.

Listed are names from various industry areas including: artists, management, media, booking agents, promoters, major and indie label personnel, publicity and promotions, awards and music body leaders, pub and club operators.

Michael Gudinski, chairman of the Mushroom Group (Australia's largest independent entertainment group), topped the poll. Notably Gotye's co-managers John Watson and Danny Rogers debuted at No.7 and No.13 on the list.
