Australian streaming service Songl to close

Australian streaming service Songl will close down on September 25, after less than two years in operation.

The site was launched by Sony Music, Universal Music and radio conglomerate Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) in March.

It offered on-demand streaming for AU$12.99 per month from a catalogue that held millions of songs from over 100,000 artists signed to Universal, EMI, Warner and Sony together with smaller and independent labels.
