DJ and producer Avicii is joining Global's 95-106 Capital FM to host his own Saturday night mix show.
Starting this Saturday night from midnight, Avicii will mix for an hour each month, 'spinning the biggest and best club tracks and remixes' to Capital FM’s 7.4 million listeners.
Avicii is best known for hit tracks such as Levels and Wake Me Up. The latter sold over 267,000 copies in its first week on sale in the UK to become the fastest selling single of 2013. He released his debut album, True, earlier this month.
The news comes a week after Capital FM's weekend dance DJ Andi Durrant announced his departure from the station.
Avicii said: "I'm so excited to have a monthly show on Capital FM. Being able to spread the music that I love and give my UK fans an update on my everyday life on the road, exciting projects and new releases is truly amazing."
Global Radio Group Executive Director & Director of Broadcasting Richard Park said: “Avicii is a world class DJ who is loved by our audience so we’re proud to have him on board to host his own show. He’ll be playing the hottest dance tracks and some of the biggest club remixes around to help to keep our listeners in the party mood on the weekends.”
Avicii will play on Capital FM monthly from Saturday September 21 from 12-1am, across the UK on 95-106 Capital FM, digital, mobile and online at capitalfm.com
