BASCA voices support for report recommending ISPs step up in fight against piracy

The British Academy of Songwriters and Composers (BASCA) has voiced support for a report recommending a number of changes to the role of internet service providers (ISPs) in the fight against piracy.

Written by Mike Weatherley MP, former intellectual property adviser to the Prime Minister, the report concludes that ISPs should be more proactive in taking down infringing works and recommends changes to the definition of safe harbour provisions.
