The BBC has reportedly banned the playback of tracks by the Doors, Neil Young, Journey and Bonnie Raitt.
It was claimed by the BBC, in a note sent to staff, that the removal of songs from these artists’ catalogues was down to the rights holders not signing up to the MCPS blanket licence.
“Until a new agreement can be reached, we cannot use songs owned by them without a breach of copyright,” said the memo.
