Richard Hawley, The xx and the Guy Barker Jazz Orchestra are some of the artists lined up for the return of the BBC Philharmonic Presents… festival.
For the second year running, seven free live concerts will take place from September 8 – December 14 featuring a number of collaborations, including the first ever between the BBC Philharmonic and BBC Asian Network.
Richard Wigley, general manager The BBC Philharmonic, said: “The return of BBC Philharmonic Presents is an irresistible mixture of collaborations with Britain’s finest artists and producers.
“With the full symphonic power of the BBC Philharmonic’s ninety professional musicians, this is a unique opportunity to bring the highest standard of music making to new audiences in collaboration with the BBC’s national radio networks and BBC North.”
The festival will perform in venues across the North of England, as well as in the BBC Philharmonic Studio at MediaCityUK in Salford, with all the BBC’s national radio networks and in partnership with BBC North.

September 14 Kermode & Mayo’s Film Review - A James Bond Special on BBC 5 live - MediaCityUK, Salford
September 14 Friday Night is Music Night - Bond and Beyond on BBC Radio 2 - MediaCityUK, Salford
September 19 The xx Symphony on BBC Radio 1 - Bridlington
October 17 Miles Symphonic - The Music Of Miles Davis on BBC Radio 3 - Blackpool
November 12 Concert with BBC Asian Network - Bradford
December 6 In Concert on BBC Radio 2 - MediaCityUK, Salford
December 14 The Listening Project on BBC Radio 4 - MediaCityUK, Salford
Tickets will be made available over the next few weeks at bbc.co.uk/tickets including full details on how to apply and closing dates for applications. Tickets for all the concerts are free and will be allocated via random draws.
